Zurich AA Public Information Committee (PIC) is funded and authorized by the Zurich Inter-group to coordinate and put into action ad hoc initiatives from the English-speaking AA groups in Zurich.
PIC relies on volunteer AA members to reach out and distribute information to our English-speaking community’s logical point of contacts, i.e. treatment facilities, churches, health professionals, etc.
Launched in November 2011, PIC has made important strides in carrying the AA message to those both inside and outside our meeting rooms. For example, the PIC
- began meeting on a regular basis with our local Swiss-German AA fellowship to learn from their PI work and avoid duplication of PI efforts
- prioritized and implemented a one-year plan and budget to guide and sustain its PI work
- formed task delegations to liaise with English-speaking Clergy and with an alcohol rehab clinic.
- printed and distributed business cards with the AA Helpline phone number and aazurich.org website address for AA and Al-Anon members
Many other initiatives have been suggested from AA members and groups in Zurich. To put them into action, the PIC asks all members of our fellowship to join them in reaching those who need it. The Committee presently meets on the first Friday of each month, 19:00, immediately before the regular Friday Night AA meeting: Cramerstrasse 7, 8004 Zürich.
For more info, contact an Intergroup GSR or send e-mail request to firstname.lastname@example.org – even better, join us at our next meeting.
When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help,
I want the hand of A.A. always to be there.
And for that: I am responsible.
